3. Is your teaching system custom-tailored to each student?
Yes. We understand the many different ways that children learn and how best to adjust our teaching style to them.

4. What is the teacher-to-student ratio?
Our teacher-to-student ratio is always one-to-one. We have found one-to-one teaching to be much more effective than shared teachers.

5. What percentage of the time is the teacher actually with the student?
Our teachers are with their students virtually 100 % of the time during their sessions.

6. Do you provide a free initial assessment?
Yes. At your choosing, we can provide and interpret an assessment test for K-12 math and English, usually in the first or second session in your own home, at no additional charge.  Formal written assessments, that include at least 4-5 sessions of observation by the tutor is also available for a small additional fee.

7. Where is the teaching done?
All teaching is done in your own home (or in a library, community center or similar venue). This is most convenient for children and parents, and allows for fewer distractions.  Note that a responsible adult must be present at all times when the tutoring sessions involves a minor child.

8. Do you personally interview and train every tutor?
Yes. We have a strict recruitment process, and only one in ten tutors is good enough to work on our team. Every tutor is fully trained on all aspects of the American Tutors.info Learning System.

9. What certification, training and experience do your tutors have?
Most of our tutors are university or college graduates or students, some with Masters or PhD degrees in their respective fields. They are all experienced and have fulfilled all requirements to become American Tutors.info certified tutors.

10. If I have questions or concerns, who do I deal with?
Our dedication to customer service is absolute. If you have a question or concern that cannot be answered by your tutor, you will receive a call, usually within the same day, by a senior employee of our company.

11. What are your fees?
The rates for Academic Tutoring vary by subject and range from the mid 30s/hr to the high 40s/hr.  Rates for Test Preparation vary based on the program you choose and range from about $500 for shorter, "brush up" programs to about $1700 for lengthy comprehensive programs.  GRE and GMAT programs are priced separately.  Payments are received online via a major debit or credit card.  Three-month payment plans are available for comprehensive programs.  Call us at 877-888-6717 for more details.

12. Are criminal background checks executed on your tutors?
You can rest assured that our tutors have a clean criminal record because all tutors must pass a standard, 7-year criminal background check.

13. Must a responsible adult be present at all times during a tutoring session?
Yes.  In fact, tutors are contractually prevented from tutoring if a parent or responsible adult is not present during an in-home tutoring session.  There is an exception to this rule:   An adult is not required if the tutoring takes place in a public place such as a school, community center, after school care facility or library.
